LEED®
Since January 2007, KGE has been a corporate member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC). KGE has consistently provided the guidance and experience on LEED Certification projects, and varied Photovoltaic projects including: studies and early design, as well as, completed construction. In addition to those efforts, we also participate in the Utah Public School Energy Efficiency Fund Program, and the Rocky Mountain Power Energy Upgrade Project, which included our own corporate office.
In the past year, nearly 60% of our current designs are USGBC certified projects. At Ken Garner Engineering, we have modified our standard electrical specifications to ensure high efficiency transformers, ballasts, lighting, and lighting control products. Our engineers specify innovative, quick adjust LCD time switches in mechanical, electrical, and telecommunications spaces, and code approved emergency relays that shut down exit and egress lighting, to ensure that no watt is used without a purpose, even at night.
